Dr. Sean Ryan is Fellowship Trained in Vascular Surgery. He completed medical school at Rutgers University/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey. He completed his General Surgical residency at Christiana Care Health System and his Fellowship training in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. He spent an extra year of training during surgical residency in a laboratory to work on tissue regeneration and teaching anatomy at the University of Delaware.
He joined Beebe Healthcare in 2015. Dr. Ryan specializes in both open and endovascular (minimally invasive) repair of aneurysm disease. He offers percutaneous or incision-less repair of aortic aneurysms. Other areas of clinical interest include: complex endovascular treatments—balloon angioplasty, atherectomy, stenting—of peripheral arterial disease, lower extremity revascularization (bypass) procedures, carotid artery surgery and stenting, permanent hemodialysis access for end-stage renal disease, placement and retrieval of IVC filters, and the management of the full spectrum of venous disease, including treatment of varicose veins of the legs and reticular (spider) veins of the hands, arms, and legs. Dr. Ryan also received training in the evaluation and surgical management of thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS).
