SheKayla Hooks, DNP, APRN, FNP-C is a nurse practitioner who offers telemedicine options for patients across the state of Delaware who wish to leverage the expertise of Beebe Healthcare for their care. Using virtual care options, she addresses conditions that require prompt medical attention, but do not warrant a visit to a hospital emergency room.

Education, Training, and Credentialing
SheKayla is a highly-trained and credentialed provider. After earning a bachelor of science in nursing from Wesley College, she went on to complete a master’s degree at Wilmington University, credentialing her as a family nurse practitioner, and later, a doctorate of nursing practice, also from Wilmington University. Currently, SheKayla is pursuing a second master’s degree, with focus on psychiatric mental health nursing. She is certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) as well as the family nurse practitioner state boards of certification in Delaware, Maryland, and Georgia.

Earlier Work Experiences
Prior to joining Beebe Healthcare, SheKayla served as a family nurse practitioner at the Washington College Health Center, where she managed common acute and chronic illnesses as well as acute injuries in a higher education setting. There, she was also responsible for training new graduate nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Earlier in her career, SheKayla worked as a family nurse practitioner for both Choice One Urgent Care and Patriot Urgent Care, while also devoting her talent to the Connections Community Support Program, with focus on withdrawal management and detoxification services.
