Dr. James Spellman earned his medical degree at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed his residency at Stamford Hospital and his fellowship at the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago. Joining Beebe Medical Group in 2007, he is board certified in general surgery. Additionally, Dr. Spellman is the Delaware State Chair of the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC) Liaison Program and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and of the Society of Surgical Oncology. He is a member of the Executive Board of Directors, Delaware Cancer Consortium.
Beebe Surgical Oncology provides surgical treatment for thyroid cancer, primary hyperparathyroidism, breast tumors, primary or metastatic lung tumors, esophageal cancer, gastric cancer, small bowel tumors, pancreatic tumors, biliary cancer, primary or metastatic liver tumors, colorectal tumors, soft tissue tumors, melanoma and other cutaneous cancer and carcinomatosis from gastrointestinal or gynecologic primaries.
